Simon Cowell is absent from America's Got Talent as a result of back surgery. Fellow judge Howie Mandel shared the outcome of the operation. Cowell has been away from the series for the procedure. Mandel also shared an update and said Cowell is now recovering, but left the return date open. Heidi Klum will rejoin the talent show while he is away. The show will go on with Klum among the judges. Reports suggest that Cowell won't return to the program until he recovers. Mandel said the procedure went well.
