Red Lobster is closing 163 of its restaurants. The chain has operated for 58 years. This is part of a bigger wave of closures affecting restaurant chains at the moment.

A few locations have already been confirmed. The Palm Desert, California location learned about it on a Monday. The Springfield branch is also closing. The company hasn't put out the complete list yet, and they haven't said when all the shutdowns will wrap up. The closures became public on 30 August 2026. Customers across the country are affected.
